action

The five friends Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie and Spike have a carefree life in the "Great Valley". They are annoyed that adults treat them like babies. As they make their way to the playground, they fall into a tar pit, but are saved by their parents, who are angry. Littlefoot's grandparents explain to their grandson that they don't want to lose him. Littlefoot hates being small. When he sleeps, Cera goes to see him and they both meet up with the others and talk about their parents' treatment. Cera in particular is fed up with being treated like a toddler. They want to show that they are brave. Then they discover something terrifying: two egg thieves ( Struthiomimus ), Ozzy and his idiot brother Strut, whose vegetarian diet is a thorn in his side, steal an egg from Ducky's nest. They pursue the two intruders and get outside the valley into the "mysterious beyond", where the sharp teeth live. The stolen egg gets back into the nest by circumstances, but they don't notice. They come across another, strange egg, which they believe to be the stolen one. You accidentally trigger a stone slide beforehand, which damages the large wall that protects the valley from the sharp teeth. They bring the egg back down into the valley, but then discover that the egg is much larger than the others and that it is a different one. A baby sharp tooth of the species T-Rex hatches from the egg, which at first scares you. When they notice that “Chomper”, as they call him, poses no danger, they take care of him and want to be his parents. This turns out to be difficult, as Chomper is not a herbivore and they have no experience with parenting, especially since they are still children themselves. Then Ozzy and Strut reappear and want revenge on the children, but are driven away by Chomper, as his shadow makes him look much bigger. When Chomper is hungry and Cera bites, the children give him a lecture and run away crying. He goes to a volcano. The friends follow him to get him back. When the volcano erupts, Ozzy and Strut reappear and want to kill their friends, but are stopped when Chomper's parents suddenly appear through the hole in the wall and attack. When Littlefoot's grandparents hear the roar, they warn the other residents of the valley. Littlefoot helps his grandfather fight Chomper's father, after which the other friends manage to overpower his mother for a moment. When suddenly both sharp teeth reappear and want to attack the children, their parents stand in their way and fight them. The sharp teeth leave the valley again. Littlefoot realizes, however, that it is Chomper's parents and brings him to them. Chomper's parents, who were looking for their son all along, are happy to have him back. Littlefoot falls again into the clutches of Ozzy and Strut, but is finally rid of them by Chomper's parents. The children tell their parents about the events and the hole in the wall, which the dinosaurs then close again. After his experiences Littlefoot thinks about being small and tells his grandparents about it.
