John Ingle
John Houston Ingle (born May 7, 1928 in Tulsa , Oklahoma , † September 16, 2012 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor , voice actor and teacher .
Life
John Houston Ingle attended Verdugo Hills High School and then studied at Occidental College . From 1955 he was a teacher of English and theater at Hollywood High School . In 1964 he was transferred to Beverly Hills High School , where he taught acting until his retirement in 1985. His most famous students included the later actors Nicolas Cage , Albert Brooks , Richard Dreyfuss , Joanna Gleason , Barbara Hershey , Swoosie Kurtz , Stefanie Powers , David Schwimmer , Jonathan Silverman and Julie Kavner .
From the beginning of the 1980s, Ingle occasionally took on guest roles in television series and films. He played in films such as Amazons on the Moon or Why the Americans have the channel full , RoboCop 2 and Death suits her well . He also played the character of Edward Quatermaine in 452 episodes of the general hospital series and the character of Mickey Horton from 2004 to 2006 in 43 episodes in the television series Zeit der Sehnsucht . In addition to acting, he also dubbed several cartoons and television series. His best-known figure, dubbed by him, was the Triceratops Topsy in 12 cartoons in the film series A Land Before Our Time and the 2007 television series In a Land Before Our Time .
Ingle died on September 16, 2012. His wife Grace-Lynne Martin died on February 11, 2012. Both had been married since December 11, 1954. They had five daughters together, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
