Industrija motornih vozil was a Yugoslav manufacturer of automobiles , based in Novo Mesto (Republic of Slovenia).

Company history

The Agroservis company from Ljubljana manufactured agricultural machinery. Under the company name Moto Montaža , the production of automobiles began in 1954 under licenses from foreign companies. In 1959 it was renamed Industrija Motornih Vozil. In 1969 there was a contract with the British Motor Corporation . In September 1972 a contract was signed with Renault . In addition, Adria brand caravans and mobile homes were created . In June 1988 IMV founded Revoz together with Renault in a joint venture . Revoz continued the vehicle production. In 1990 the caravan and mobile home production was transferred to the newly founded company Adria Mobil . In 1991 IMV was dissolved.

DKW

In cooperation with Auto Union , light commercial vehicles such as the DKW Schnellaster of the DKW brand were created from 1955 .

Austin

A left-hand drive Austin 1300 with a Serbian license plate in the depot of the Belgrade Automobile Museum. Probably produced by IMV.

Between 1969 and 1972 the company manufactured Austin vehicles in cooperation with the British Motor Corporation. The brand name was Austin IMV . The total number of 21,379 copies is distributed as follows:

Renault

Production of Renault vehicles began in 1973 with the Renault 4 . This model was also produced by Revoz. The larger models were not as successful as can be seen in the table below.

Another source indicates that the Renault 12 and Renault 16 were manufactured until early 1976, and the Renault 18 as early as 1978.
