Ingeborg Friebe

Ingeborg Friebe (born April 20, 1931 in Braunschweig ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending elementary school and the commercial vocational school, Friebe worked as a telephone operator and clerk from 1947 to 1953 and worked as a school secretary from 1967 to 1969.

Political party

Friebe joined the SPD in 1950, became a member of the local council of Monheim am Rhein in 1967 and served as sub-district chairwoman in the Rhein-Wupper district from 1970 to 1975. 1970 to 1976 she was also a member of the Lower Rhine SPD district executive.

MPs

From 1969 to 1974 Friebe was a city councilor for the city of Monheim and a district councilor for the Rhein-Wupper district. From 1976 to 1997 she was mayor of the city of Monheim am Rhein , where she still lives today.

She was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from May 28, 1975 to May 31, 1995. From May 30, 1985 to May 30, 1990 she was 2nd Vice President of the State Parliament and served as President of the North Rhine-Westphalian State Parliament from May 31, 1990 to May 31, 1995.
