Vera Notz-Umberg (born January 3, 1976 ) is a Swiss athlete and multiple Swiss champion. In addition to long-distance running, she is also active as a triathlete .

Career

Your specialty is long-distance running . She starts for Stade Genève and was trained by her father Richard Umberg .

In November 2000 she won the Ticino Marathon in 2: 48: 43.6 hours. She started at the 2001 European Cross Country Championships (4.65 km) and finished 71st. In October 2002 she was fifth in the Frankfurt Marathon in 2:38:10 h .

Between 2002 and 2006 she was four times Swiss champion in the 3000 meter run in the hall. In October 2003 she was Swiss champion in the half marathon at the Lausanne Marathon .

In Thun in 2004 she set a Swiss season best over 10,000 m. With 32: 55.05 h, the Bernese woman was more than 19 seconds below the record of Mirja Jenni-Moser and she moved up to sixth place in the all-time Swiss best list over this distance.

Triathlon since 2009

In 2009 she started in the triathlon at the Triathlon di Locarno and came third, behind Regula Rohrbach . At Ironman Switzerland (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) she finished the race in 2010 after 10:17:32 h and was fifth in the 30-34 age group. In 2011 she came second in the Murten Sea Country Triathlon .

She is married to the former 400 meter specialist Bernhard Notz . Her son Vincent Notz is also active as a track and field athlete.

Vera Notz-Umberg is a laboratory assistant by profession and she works as a personal trainer in endurance sports for amateur, health and competitive athletes. She lives in Kerzers .
