Richard Umberg (born May 10, 1950 in Glarus in Eastern Switzerland) is a Swiss athlete and trainer.

Career

Richard Umberg grew up in Nidfurn and has lived in the Bern and Friborg region since the recruit school.

He was a medium and long-distance running trainer, conditioning trainer in tennis , alpine skiing , snowboarding , soccer, etc. and Swiss national trainer in the SLV athletics association . Umberg was able to win the Swiss marathon champion title five times and became known as the long-time coach of the top athlete Franziska Rochat-Moser .

Today he still trains his daughter Vera Notz-Umberg , who is also nine-time Swiss champion over 3000 meters indoor, 5000 meters , 10 km road, half marathon and winner of the Post-Cup 2005.

Awards

  • In 1997 he was named "Swiss Athletics Coach of the Year 1997" by the Swiss Athletics Association.
