Ingeborg von Zadow (born May 24, 1970 in Berlin ) is a German playwright who mainly writes children's plays. She also works as a literary translator.

Life

Ingeborg von Zadow grew up bilingually (German / English) in Berlin, Bonn, Poughkeepsie / NY , Brussels and Heidelberg , where she graduated from high school in 1989. She studied applied theater studies at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen and at Binghamton University , where she graduated in 1994 with a Master of Arts (MA) for Theater .

Even before studying, she began to work as a writer and assistant director at various theaters. Since her studies she has been working as a freelancer in Berlin, Mannheim and since 1998 in Heidelberg.

Her pieces, which are mainly published by the authors' publishing house , have been shown and translated in over 50 performances since 1993 (English, Polish, Hebrew, Turkish, Russian, Swedish and Estonian). In 1997 the theater festival Triangel Festival Konstanz showed a retrospective. At the 6th German Children's and Youth Theater Meeting in Berlin in 2001, she received the Brothers Grimm Prize of the State of Berlin for her previous work. The Goethe-Institut made it possible for her to accept invitations to England, Greece and Australia. She worked as a tutor at the author meetings World Interplay Australia and Interplay Europe .
