Tyldum, who competed for the Overhalla IL, appeared internationally for the first time at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2002 in Schonach in the Black Forest . There she finished 27th in the 15 km mass start race and 25th in the sprint. Her first race in the Continental Cup took place in December 2002 in Gaasbu and achieved 18th place over 5 km classic. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2003 in Sollefteå , she came in 26th place over 5 km classic. She made her debut in the World Cup in March 2003 in Oslo , which she finished in 42nd place in the sprint. At the U23 World Championships in 2006 in Kranj , she achieved 28th place in the skiathlon and 24th place over 10 km classic. In January 2007 she got her first World Cup points in Otepää with the 29th place over 10 km classic. The following month she reached her first podium in the Scandinavian Cup in Falun with second place in the sprint . In the 2007/08 season she came in the points 12 times in the World Cup, including three times in the top ten. With the eighth place in the sprint in Stockholm she achieved her best individual placement in the World Cup. In the Scandinavian Cup she reached two third and three second places. In February 2008 she won her only victory in the Scandinavian Cup over 5 km classic in Sundsvall and her only World Cup victory with the relay in Falun. She finished the season in 36th place in the overall World Cup and in first place in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup. In 2008 she was third in the sprint at the Norwegian championships and second in the sprint in 2010. She completed her last World Cup race in March 2010 in Drammen , which she finished in 49th place in the sprint.
