International Student Week in Ilmenau
The International Student Week in Ilmenau ( International Student Week in Ilmenau ) (ISWI) is the largest international student festival in Germany, which has been taking place every two years since 1993 in the vicinity of the Technical University of Ilmenau and is organized by the Solidarity World Ilmenau eV initiative , which is also abbreviated to ISWI , is organized.
International Student Week
As part of the festival, between 300 and 400 young people from different countries work in themed workshops . Numerous lectures will take place in parallel. The most famous speakers so far include Robert Jungk , Joseph Weizenbaum , former Federal Chancellor Helmut Schmidt and Konrad Zuse .
The ISWI is accompanied by numerous cultural events, such as concerts. In addition to the ISWI eV, various initiatives in the vicinity of the TU Ilmenau play a key role.
The reporting is provided by student media such as the Research Association for Electronic Media eV with its student television iSTUFF with the ISWISION format and radio hsf . The student radio, which has been accompanying the ISWI meetings with a 24-hour VHF program since 1993 , is the official ISWIradio. Both media came together for the first time in 2007 to broadcast jointly via DVB-T and thus bring the ISWI closer to the Ilmenau and the surrounding area.
