Inlandsvägen in southern Lapland

Inlandsväg Syd runs from Halmstad on the southwest coast of Sweden to Mora on Lake Siljan in central Sweden via Riksväg 26.

The original route of Inlandsväg begins in Gothenburg, leads west past Vänern via Mora - Östersund - Storuman - Arvidsjaur - Jokkmokk - Gällivare to Karesuando on the Finnish border, whereby the entire route corresponds to European route 45 (between Gällivare and Svappavaara also as Europastraße 10 ). Until the end of 2006, the route of the Inlandsväg still predominantly had the rank of Riksväg (Rv 45), but was then consistently upgraded to the European route .

history

The name refers to the Inlandsbahn (Inlandsbanan) railway line . The marketing of the route is supported by the communities along the way. This is an attempt to encourage tourists and professional drivers to take this route. This route is also called “Via Lappia”, especially in the northern part.
