Inzhich-Chukun ( Russian Инжич-Чукун ; abasinisch Йынджьыгь-ЧІкІвын) is a location in the Russian Republic of Karatschai-Tscherkessien . In 2013 it had about 2610 inhabitants and has been the main town of the Abasinski rajon since 2006 . Inschitsch-Tschukun is, like the entire Rajon , mostly inhabited by members of the Abasin people.
history
The place was founded in 1861 and initially had the name Selentschuksko-Loowski. In 1925 it was renamed Inschitsch-Tschukun. Before it became the capital of the Abasinski rajon in 2006 , Inschitsch-Chukun belonged to the Chabeski rajon .
