Until 1955, Insone was a political municipality in the district of Lugano , Canton Ticino , in Switzerland.
geography
The village is at 879 m above sea level. M. in the upper Val Colla , at the southern foot of the 2116 m above sea level. M. high Gazzirola. The pass San Lucio (1541 m above sea level) leads from here to the Italian municipality of Cavargna .
history
The village was first mentioned in 1591 as Aijson and Ansone . At this time Insone had 16 households and already owned the St. Rochus Chapel.
Community merger
In 1956 Insone merged with the municipalities of Colla , Piandera , Scareglia and Signôra to form the new municipality of Valcolla .
