geography

The village is 880 m above sea level. M. in the upper Val Colla . The pass San Lucio (1541 m above sea level) leads from here to the Italian municipality of Cavargna .

history

The village was mentioned earlier as Pian d'Era . In the first half of the 15th century, Piandera belonged to the vicinia of Colla , as it still belongs to the parish of the same name today. Piandera formed a community in 1686 or at least enjoyed a certain degree of independence; dam as if it bought itself out of the obligation to support the Cathedral of San Lorenzo (Lugano) . The vicinia or the patriziato (local civil parish) still exists today.

Community merger

In 1956, Piandera merged with the municipalities of Colla , Insone , Scareglia and Signôra to form the new municipality of Valcolla .

In 2013 Bogno, Certara, Cimadera e Valcolla merged with the municipality of Lugano, they form a district called Val Colla.
