Interoute is a telecommunications provider and owner of a pan-European voice and data network. Interoute deals with the management of business-critical infrastructures. This includes dedicated hosting solutions and network services. The company uses its own Next Generation Network for technology-independent site networking, for VoIP and cloud services. The latter are mainly available as Video as a Service and Infrastructure as a Service . Interoute is owned by the Sandoz Family Foundation .

Interoute operates across Europe and offers its business customers ICT solutions. The company operates 24 Metropolitan Area Networks ( MAN ) in major European cities and cooperates with local network operators. In Germany, Interoute has MANs in Berlin , Düsseldorf , Frankfurt , Hamburg , Munich and Stuttgart . Here the company works under the name Interoute Germany GmbH. In Austria and Switzerland , the company is represented by MANs in Vienna , Meyrin and Zurich . For customers from the banking sector, Interoute operates automated trading via its network . Recently positioning as a cloud provider with video conference services and a virtual data center.

- The Süddeutsche Zeitung reveals that Interoute, under the code name “Streetcar”, helped the British government agency GCHQ to transmit data from its customers for the Tempora program.
2015
- GTT Communications Inc. (GTT) to acquire Interoute for US $ 2.3 billion
