Ip ( Hungarian Ipp ) is a municipality in the district of Sălaj in the Romanian Kreischgebiet , in western Romania . The municipality consists of five villages Cosniciu de Jos , Cosniciu de Sus , Ip, Zăuan and Zăuan-Băi .
On September 14, 1940, the Ip massacre took place here , in which 158 Romanian civilians were killed.
