Irene de Noiret (born January 5, 1896 in Budapest , Hungary , † July 26, 1984 in Munich ) was a Hungarian - German cabaret artist and chanson singer . Your entire documentary estate is in the German Cabaret Archive .

Life

Irene de Noiret was born the daughter of a surgeon and comes from a French aristocratic family who emigrated to Hungary. After studying in Budapest and Brussels , she made her debut as an opera singer in the title role of Giacomo Puccini's Tosca at the Budapest Opera . This was followed by many appearances with Max Reinhardt on various stages. Later she mainly turned to the chanson. In 1938 she performed on Carow's Lachbühne in Berlin.

From 1947 engagements as a singer (chansons and folk songs) were recorded in Berlin, Hamburg and Hanover. In the post-war period (1945/1946) she was also temporarily director of the Oldenburg State Theater .
