Irina Tananajko

Irina Tananajko ( Cyrillic Ирина Александровна Тананайко; born March 5, 1976 in Mahiljou ) is a former Belarusian biathlete who also competes for Ukraine .

Irina Tananajko is a sports teacher from Mahiljou . She has been running biathlon since 1995 and competes for Dynamo Mahiljou . In the biathlon world cup Tananajko made her debut in 1996 in a sprint race in Lillehammer , in which she, as in the subsequent pursuit, was 48th. A year later she started in Osrblie for the first time at the biathlon world championships . In the singles she came in 27th place. In the 1997/98 season she won the Östersund World Cup points for the first time in 12th place . In the summer of 1998, the Belarusian started at the World Championships in Summer Biathlon in Osrblie and achieved sixth place in the pursuit after eighth place in the sprint. The highlight of the season was Tananajko's only participation in the Olympic Games . In Nagano she was 22nd in both individual and sprint. The following season - again in Osrblie - brought her best placement in the World Cup. In the relay race she was second with Swetlana Paramygina , Natalia Murschtschakina and Natallja Ryschankowa . She also achieved her best result in an individual race - seventh in an individual - a year later on this competition track.
