The province of Isabel is centrally located in the west of the Pacific island state of Solomon Islands . It borders in the northwest on the province of Choiseul , in the southeast on the province of Malaita and in the west on the provinces Western and Central .
The provincial capital of Buala is located on the southeast coast of Santa Isabel , the province's largest island with around 3,000 km² . Just a few kilometers to the east is the island of Fera , on which there is a small runway .
The Isabel Province includes numerous islands, including San Jorge . The area of all islands is 4,136 km². After the census of 2009 26.158 people lived in the province, the majority of on the main island of Santa Isabel.
