Around 1450 Isaia da Pisa was appointed esperto magistro to Orvieto to work on the facade of the cathedral . After his return to Rome he worked, together with Paolo Romano , eius sotio (his partner), on several projects on behalf of Pope Pius II in the Vatican palaces .
