The Isar Bridge Unterföhring is a bridge over the Isar of the federal motorway 99 and the motorway ring around Munich .

location

The Unterföhring bridge over the Isar is located on the northern edge of Munich's urban area. It begins in the Munich district of Fröttmaning , but already crosses the Isar in the area of ​​the Ismaning municipality a good 200 meters north of the municipality border with Unterföhring . Although the majority of the bridge, like the Isar itself, is located in the Ismaning area, the bridge is named after Unterföhring because the built-up area of ​​Unterföhring is closer than the Ismaning and the name Isarbrücke Ismaning is already used for the crossing of the federal road 471 over the Isar .

history

The bridge was built between 1972 and 1974 as part of the expansion of the A 99 between the Munich-North interchange and the Munich-South interchange .

Due to execution errors, the bridge had to be fundamentally refurbished as early as 1991–92. The renovation cost about 23 million DM, which was about twice the construction costs. In 1997 this led to a small request from the PDS in the Bundestag .

Due to the 8-lane expansion with temporary shoulder clearance, in 2018/19 the Isar bridge will be renovated again and statically supplemented. In addition, the noise reduction demanded by the neighboring communities is met by renewing the bearings, roadway crossing structures and replacing the top surface with open-pored surface. The costs are expected to be 7 493 409.96 EUR excluding supplements. Thus, all basic renovation costs are three times as high as the original production costs.
