The Leinthalerbrücke is a road bridge in the north of Munich .

After the regulation of the Isar in the course of flood protection measures, the ferry traffic between Freimann and Unterföhring came to a standstill. Therefore, on November 28, 1895, the municipality of Unterföhring submitted an application to the Ministry of the Interior to build a bridge. After lengthy discussions about the location of the bridge, it was decided in 1898 to build it near Oberföhring .

The bridge, inaugurated on October 13, 1903, was made impassable on April 30, 1945 when the western part was blown up. The parallel Föhringen railway bridge was also blown up. From 1949 onwards, pedestrians could at least reach the other bank on a temporary wooden bridge. The bridge was rebuilt by 1950. Since the early 1960s, a few meters south of the Leinthalerbrücke, the Herzog-Heinrich-Brücke , on which the Föhringer Ring crosses the Isar and the canal, has been located. Since the Leinthalerbrücke had to be closed in 1980 due to dilapidation , it was replaced by a new building until 1982.
