Isidor Früh (born April 13, 1922 in Sasbach ; † August 28, 2002 there ) was a German farmer and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending secondary school and grammar school, Früh was drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1941 and participated in World War II as a soldier until 1945 . At the end of the war he was taken prisoner, from which he was released in 1947. He then completed an agricultural training. In 1948 he began studying agriculture at the University of Hohenheim , which he completed in 1951 with an exam as a qualified farmer. In 1949 he became a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Carolingia Hohenheim in the CV.

Früh worked from 1952 to 1976 as the head of the rural home folk high school of the state farmers' association Württemberg-Hohenzollern in Bad Waldsee , graduated in 1958 as Dr. agr. and later worked as chairman of the Association of Rural Folk High Schools in Germany. In 1973 he took over the management of the Federal Association of German Fruit and Small Distillers.

Political party

Early in 1956 he joined the CDU and was elected chairman of the CDU local association in Bad Waldsee. He was also the deputy chairman of the state agricultural committee of the CDU Baden-Württemberg .

MP

From 1969 to 1980, Früh was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1969 to 1976 he entered parliament via the Baden-Württemberg state list and represented the constituency of Biberach from 1976 to 1980 . In addition, he was a member of the European Parliament from 1973 to 1989 .
