The Heimvolkshochschule Schwäbische Bauernschule in Bad Waldsee is the educational institution of the state farmers' association in Baden-Württemberg .

history
The Swabian Farmer's School was founded on December 22nd, 1949 by Bernhard Bauknecht , the then President of the State Farmers' Association for Württemberg and Hohenzollern eV It is one of the oldest schools of this type after the 1948 and thus oldest rural folk high school in southern Germany in Herrsching am Ammersee Ernst Geprägs and Friedrich Wilhelm Schnitzler , who are also the founding fathers of the state farmers' association in Baden-Württemberg , were involved in the development and expansion of the educational center .
In the Herrschinger Declaration of June 12, 1954, the three South German Folk High Schools in Bad Waldsee, Herrsching and Scherzen / Tiengen committed themselves as farmers ' schools and to the farmers' associations and to the Association of Rural Folk High Schools in Germany founded in 1951 . In the declaration, they accused the denominational schools, especially the Catholic schools, which were organized in the Association of Catholic Rural Adult Education Centers in Germany , of separatism. As a result, by 1958 there was an agreement and concentration of denominational and professional schools in the Association of Rural Folk High Schools in Germany , today's Association of Education Centers in Rural Areas .
On October 30, 2010, Rudolf Köberle , Baden-Württemberg's Minister for Rural Areas and Consumer Protection , inaugurated a new building for the guest house, which was built with funding from the State of Baden-Württemberg and the Federal Republic of Germany .

Vocational training
The school is the Regional Council Tübingen recognized training center for apprenticeships home economists , home economists as vocational training in agriculture , home economics assistants and specialist practitioners utility .

Conference venue
In addition to self-sponsored educational events, conferences and seminars from partner organizations take place in the premises of the Swabian Farmer's School . So the Landesbauernverband leading rural women's clubs , the German Federation of Rural Youth , the Social Security of Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture , the National Association of machinery rings , the Higher Regional Court of Baden-Württemberg, the State Center for Political Education , the Social Service Agency Württemberg , the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative Association and the state association for commercial fruit growing hold regular events here. In addition, the house is used as a regular conference venue by the International Working Group for Music and the Baden-Württemberg Home and Hiking Academy .
Furnishing
The school consists of three buildings. It has 79 beds in 35 single rooms and 22 double rooms, a hall with foyer, three seminar rooms, work room, leisure rooms and dining room.
