Isidoro Del Lungo (born December 20, 1841 in Montevarchi , Arezzo province , † May 4, 1927 in Florence ) was an Italian literary historian and literary critic .

Life

Del Lungo studied law at the University of Siena and the University of Pisa , where he graduated in 1860, and became a professor at the grammar school of Faenza in 1862 , later in Casale Monferrato , Siena and in 1868 in Florence .

He had been a member of the Accademia della Crusca in Florence since 1868 and co- editor of the dictionary published by the Accademia . In 1890 he became a corresponding, in 1901 national member of the Accademia dei Lincei . In 1906 he was appointed Senator of the Kingdom .

In addition to many works that he published in various magazines , he also published several books.
