Ismael Reinhardt (born June 23, 1976 ) is a German jazz musician ( vocals , guitar , composition ), living in Freiburg im Breisgau .

Live and act

Ismael Reinhardt is a German Sinto and comes from a family of musicians, including the French guitarist and composer Django Reinhardt . At the age of six he played the guitar and violin and made music in church services. His career began when he was 12 when he first appeared at a jazz festival. He dealt all his life with the music of his ancestors Schnuckenack Reinhardt and Django Reinhardt. Further influences were the guitar technique of George Benson , the violin playing Stéphane Grappellis and the singing of Frank Sinatra . He is currently performing in various formations, such as a trio, quartet or with an orchestra. Reinhardt has presented several albums since 2004, on which guest musicians such as Biréli Lagrène , Titi Winterstein , Stochelo Rosenberg and Greetje Kauffeld participated. In his album Gypsy Swing he used jazz standards such as " Fly Me to the Moon ", " Night and Day ", " Sweet Georgia Brown ", " There Is No Greater Love " and the Sonny Rollins' title "Pent-Up House" a musical arc from the gypsy jazz era to swing and bebop .
