It Had to Be You… The Great American Songbook entered the German album charts at number 26 on November 4, 2002 and stayed in the top 100 for a total of 15 weeks. It was more successful in the United States and the United Kingdom, where the album reached number 4 and 8 respectively.
As singles , the songs were These Foolish Things and They Can not Take That Away from Me decoupled, both could not be placed on the charts.
