Ivan Nikčević ( Serbian - Cyrillic Иван Никчевић ; born February 11, 1981 in Nikšić , SR Montenegro , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian handball player . His body length is 1.82 m.

Nikčević, who plays for the Spanish club BM Benidorm and plays for the Serbian national team, is mostly used as a left winger.

Ivan Nikčević signed his first professional contract with RK Red Star Belgrade . With the capital city he was champion and cup winner several times and rose to the national team. In 2005 he therefore moved to BM Altea in the Spanish ASOBAL league . In the summer of 2007, his club ran into financial problems and withdrew his license for the first division; so Nikčević moved to BM Ciudad de Almería on a free transfer , before he went to the top club SDC San Antonio in 2008 - in exchange for Adrián Crowley . Nikčević was signed by BM Valladolid in 2011 to replace Håvard Tvedten . A year later he signed a contract with the Polish first division club Wisła Płock . In summer 2016 he signed a contract with the Portuguese first division club Sporting Lisbon . With Sporting he won the EHF Challenge Cup in 2017 and the Portuguese championship in 2017 and 2018. In summer 2020 he moved to the Spanish first division club BM Benidorm .

Nikčević is a Serbian citizen and plays international matches for the Serbian national team . He was on the squad for the 2010 European Handball Championship and the 2011 World Championship ; by December 2013, he played 118 international matches , in which he scored 434 goals. In summer 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London .
