Petra van der Mieden

Petra van der Mieden (* before 2000 in Nuremberg ) is a German- Dutch opera, operetta, lied, concert and oratorio singer ( soprano ).

Life

Petra van der Mieden is of German- Dutch origin. She was already a children's soloist on the stage of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich , where she discovered her passion for opera. After graduating from the Pestalozzi-Gymnasium in Munich, she trained as a state-certified translator and interpreter for English and Spanish. Petra van der Mieden then started her singing studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg , which she later continued at the music academy for music and theater in the Bavarian capital with Kammersänger Wolfgang Brendel . In 2000 she completed her studies with a diploma for opera and concert singing.

During her studies, Petra van der Mieden sang Fiordiligi ( Così fan tutte ) and Alcina ( Alcina ) in the Prinzregententheater and Cuvilliés Theater in Munich as well as in the Margravial Theater in Bayreuth as part of the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding , Munich . She also appeared as Fiordiligi at the Mainfrankentheater Würzburg.

In the period that followed, the soprano performed at theaters in Darmstadt, Ulm, Kiel, Braunschweig, Coburg and Gießen. Her repertoire includes the major parts of the lyrical Italian and German subject. A highlight of her career was the open-air opera concert in 2001 for the 450th anniversary of the city of Alzenau as a partner of Francisco Araiza , at whose side she also appeared at the Silver Rose Ball in Munich in January 2004 .

From June 2002 until the end of the 2005/2006 season she was a member of the ensemble at Theater Augsburg . There she sang the roles of Nannetta ( Falstaff ), Atalanta ( Xerxes ), Gilda ( Rigoletto ), Micaela ( Carmen ), Juliette ( Roméo et Juliette ), Gretel ( Hansel and Gretel ), Ilia ( Idomeneo ) and Zerlina ( Don Giovanni ) . The artist has been working as a freelance artist since the 2006/2007 season. She sang u. a. the Arsena in Der Zigeunerbaron at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf .

Petra van der Mieden is also active as a lieder and concert singer. Her repertoire includes works by the composers Gustav Mahler , Joseph Haydn , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy , Johannes Brahms and Carl Orff .
