Ivan Ratkić (born February 23, 1986 in Zagreb ) is a former Croatian ski racer . He took part in three World Championships and two Olympic Games and competed in several World Cup races from 2007 to 2010 .

Career

Ratkić contested his first FIS race in November 2001. From 2003 to 2006 he took part in the Junior World Championships, the best result was 26th place in the Super-G 2006. In 2005 he started at the World Championships in Bormio and came up in the giant slalom the 38th rank. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , he finished 36th in the Super-G, in the giant slalom and in the super-combined he was eliminated. He achieved similar results at the 2007 World Championships in Åre , the best place was 31st place in the super combined.

On November 29, 2007, the Croat took part in the Super Combined of Beaver Creek for the first time in a World Cup race, but failed in the downhill. In February 2009 he reached the 13th place in the Super Combined and 31st place in the Super G at the World Championships in Val-d'Isère . In the same month he achieved the first countable result in his fourth World Cup race: In the super combination of Sestriere he finished 38th. Ratkić won the first and only World Cup point of his career on December 4, 2009 as 30th in the super combination of Beaver Creek . At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , he finished 26th in the Super-G and 41st in the downhill. In the super combination, he was eliminated in downhill skiing. After the end of the 2009/2010 season Ratkić lost his squad membership in the Croatian Ski Federation, whereupon he ended his career.
