Ivana Loudová
Ivana Loudová (born March 8, 1941 in Chlumec nad Cidlinou in Moravia , † July 25, 2017 in Prague ) was a Czech composer .
Life
Loudová took violin lessons from the age of eight. From 1958 to 1961 she studied at the Conservatory in Prague with Miloslav Kabeláč and then at the Music Academy with Emil Hlobil . She continued her training with Olivier Messiaen and André Jolivet at the Conservatoire de Paris and with Pierre Schaeffer at the Center Bourdan for experimental music of the ORTF.
Since 1972 she has lived as a freelance composer. From 1992 she taught at the Academy of Arts in Prague, where she was professor of composition since 2006. She composed more than a hundred works that have received numerous awards at music festivals. In 1993 she received the Heidelberg City Art Prize for her compositional work .
