Ivan Wiktorowitsch Pantschenko ( Russian Иван Викторович Панченко ; born January 2, 1984 in Gesgaly) is a Russian biathlete .

Ivan Panchenko was initially active and successful for four seasons between 2002 and 2005 in the juniors. He took part in his first Junior World Championship in Ridnaun in 2002 and finished 22nd in the individual, eighth in the fuel and 12th in the pursuit. The Russian achieved better results a year later in Kościelisko when he was 16th in the sprint, sixth in pursuit and individual and won the title with the relay. For the third and last Panchenko took part in 2004 in Haute-Maurienne in Junior World Championships, where he was 28th of the sprint and 20th of the pursuit. The last major event among the juniors was the 2004 European Biathlon Championships in Novosibirsk , where Panchenko achieved his greatest successes. He won the gold medal with the relay and was third in sprint and pursuit behind Ondřej Moravec and Oleh Bereschnyj .

It was not until 2009 that Panchenko was reinstated internationally. In the meantime, the Russian had specialized in the summer biathlon in the form of cross-country running and started with the men in the performance area. First he took part in the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2009 in Nové Město na Moravě . In the sprint he was ninth, in the mass start he was 13th. At the 2009 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof , he was eleventh in the sprint and 18th in the pursuit. The Russian won his first men's medal at the 2010 Summer Biathlon European Championships in Osrblie , where he won the bronze medal in the sprint behind Matej Kazár and Maxim Adijew . In the pursuit he missed another medal with fourth place and thus also the starting place in the Russian gold relay.

Ivan Panchenko trains in Novosibirsk with Alexander Pechorsky in the regional sports center ( Регионального Центра Спортивной Подготовки ). He is married to the biathlete Yulia Panchenko .
