Kyōko Iwasaki

Kyōko Iwasaki ( Japanese 岩崎 恭子 , Iwasaki Kyōko ; born July 21, 1978 in Numazu , Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese swimmer .

At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , she was Olympic champion over 200 m breaststroke. This was to be the only great success of her career.

The astronomer Makio Akiyama named the asteroid (35441) Kyoko, discovered in 1998, after her.
