Jórunn Ragnarsdóttir (born June 28, 1957 in Akureyri , Iceland ) is an Icelandic architect , partner in the Lederer + Ragnarsdóttir + Oei office and professor of architecture.

Life

After graduating from high school in Reykjavík , Jórunn Ragnarsdóttir studied architecture at the University of Stuttgart . In 1982 she completed her studies with a diploma and then worked as an employee, from 1985 as a partner with Arno Lederer .

In 1992 Marc Oei (* 1962 in Stuttgart) joined the office community as the third partner. Jórunn Ragnarsdóttir worked for Boris Podrecca at the University of Stuttgart from 1992 to 1993 and designed - in addition to the projects for the architecture firm Lederer + Ragnarsdóttir + Oei - several sets and costumes for theaters in Reykjavík. In particular, the proximity to Scandinavian architecture, which is of great importance for the work of the office, takes priority in their design approach.

In 2007 Jórunn Ragnarsdóttir took on an advisory role for the city of Lindau on Lake Constance; since 2009 she has been a member of the design advisory board of the city of Lübeck . From 2010 to 2012 she was a member of the design advisory board of the city of Mannheim . Jórunn Ragnarsdóttir has been a member of the Advisory Board of the City of Munich since 2010 and the Commission for Urban Design in Munich since 2012. From 2010 to 2012 Jórunn Ragnarsdóttir took over the professorship from Laurids Ortner in the architecture class at the Düsseldorf Art Academy , alongside Karl-Heinz Petzinka , Axel Schultes and Max Dudler . Jórunn Ragnarsdóttir has been a member since 2014, and chairwoman of the design advisory board of the city of Freiburg im Breisgau since 2017 . Since 2015 she has been a member of the University Council of the Art Academy Stuttgart , since 2016 chairwoman of the design advisory boards of the cities of Reutlingen and Regensburg. She has also been the curator for the architectural project “16 Stations” at the Remstal Garden Show 2019 since the end of 2016. In 2017 Jórunn Ragnarsdóttir became a member of the Baukollegium Berlin, as well as the advisory board "Berlin Creative District" for Berlin-Tempelhof .
