Józef Wróbel SCI (born October 18, 1952 in Bestwina ) is a Polish religious and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Lublin .

Life

Józef Wróbel joined the religious order of the Dehonians , made his profession on December 28, 1974 and the Archbishop of Kraków , Cardinal Franciszek Macharski , ordained him a priest on June 12, 1980 . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Helsinki on November 30, 2000 .

The president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity , Edward Idris Cardinal Cassidy , ordained him episcopal on January 27 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were Piero Biggio , Apostolic Nuncio in Iceland , Finland , Norway , Sweden and Denmark , and Gerhard Schwenzer SSCC , Bishop of Oslo .

As a motto he chose Omnia mea tua sunt .

resignation

On June 28, 2008 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Lublin and titular bishop of Suas . Bishop Wróbel was released from his office as Bishop of Helsinki at his own request. At his request he was appointed auxiliary bishop in Lublin and holds a professorship at the Catholic University of Lublin . Wróbel's resignation can be traced back to an old ecclesiastical dispute between the current bishop Teemu Sippo SCI of Helsinki and himself. The then Father Sippo was replaced as cathedral priest by the incumbent Bishop Wróbel in earlier years .
