Jörg Jäger (born December 10, 1965 in Bremen - Neustadt ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1995 to 2005 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship .

education and profession

After completing high school at the Bördestrasse school center in Bremen-Lesum , Jäger trained as an industrial clerk at Mercedes-Benz . He then began a study of economics at the University of Bremen , which he as a graduate economist graduated.

In addition to his citizenship mandate, he was employed or freelance, u. a. active in event management, marketing and communication.

After resigning as a member of parliament, Jäger switched to the Senator for Interior and Sport in 2005 and advised CDU Senator Thomas Röwekamp on Federal Council matters and coordinated cooperation with the political bodies. In addition, from the spring of 2007 to 2008 he was head of the department and temporarily supervised advisory boards, local offices and district management for the interior department.

In 2008, Jäger was appointed state representative for Lower Saxony by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS). He took over as head of the Lower Saxony Political Education Forum (formerly Bildungswerk Hannover) in Hanover.

After further training as a systemic consultant, he switched to the management of the Lower Saxony Study Institute for Local Administration (NSI) in the summer of 2016. He worked in the role of advanced training manager and deputy head of the Oldenburg Education Center. In August 2018 Jäger returned to the state capital Hanover and started at the Ministry of Economics, Labor, Transport and Digitization as head of the department "Cabinet, State Parliament, Federal Council, Ministerial Conferences".

Jäger joined the Junge Union and the CDU in 1984 . From 1987 to 1992 he was deputy state chairman in Bremen at the Junge Union . From 1990 to 1998 and from 2000 to 2008 he was a member of the state board of the CDU Bremen. Between 1990 and 1995 he was a member of the Deputation for Education and from 1991 to 1995 a member of the Bremen-Neustadt Advisory Board . As its member, he headed the CDU parliamentary group for one year . Between 1992 and 2001 and 2004 he was also chairman of the CDU city district association Bremen-Neustadt.

From 1995 to 2005 Jäger was a member of the Bremen citizenship. Among other things, Jäger was the university and science policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group, member of the parliamentary group executive committee and member of the committee for federal and European affairs , international contacts and development cooperation . In the European elections on June 13, 2004 , he ran as the top candidate of the CDU regional association, but missed the entry into the European Parliament .

From 2000 to 2008 Jäger was chairman of the CDU district association Bremen-Stadt and again a member of the CDU state board of Bremen. In the spring of 2008 he reached the runoff election in the election of the mayor of the North Sea spa Büsum , but was defeated in the final round by a competitor.
