Jörg Zillies (* 5. September 1946 in Potsdam ) is a German Industrial Pharmacists , business consultants , local politicians of the CDU in Bielefeld , the Supervisory Board of aconso AG, a sports official and former sports presenter at radio the WDR . Zillies holds a doctorate in pharmacy and in this context worked as a freelance pharmacist in the pharmaceutical industry. Zillies is a member of the CDU Bielefeld district executive and was a member of the Bielefeld City Council from 2004 to 2009 as a directly elected council member for the Sennestadt-Nord constituency. Between 2001 and 2003, Zillies was the first chairman of the handball department of the Bielefeld second division club TSG Altenhagen-Heepen and saved it from bankruptcy by developing a restructuring concept. On August 30, 2011 Zillies announced his candidacy as president of Arminia Bielefeld and was elected to this on September 11, 2011. He is the successor of the interim president Hans Joachim Faber, who succeeded the president Wolfgang Brinkmann , who resigned in June 2011. On July 15, 2013, Zillies resigned as President of Arminia Bielefeld for private and personal reasons.

Radio presenter

In the 1980s, Zillies was a football presenter at the radio station WDR and was part of Kurt Brumme's radio team on the program Sport and Music .

Private life

Jörg Zillies played as an active handball player for Arminia Bielefeld in the 1960s . He later moved to TSV Altenhagen as a handball player and supervisor, where he was active in both the upper and regional leagues. In the meantime, Zillies was a player-coach at Arminia Bielefeld for two years until he finally coached the youth in Altenhagen in the 1980s. Zillies is also a member of the THC Gelb-Weiß Bielefeld and Bielefelder TTC tennis clubs and plays golf .

He lives in Bielefeld and is married and has three children.
