Jörn Patzak

Jörn Patzak (born October 15, 1971 in Trier ) is a German lawyer, public prosecutor, basketball player, author and head of the Wittlich correctional facility .

Life

After graduating from high school, Patzak studied law in Trier. During this time he also played from 1994 to 1998 in the 1st basketball league at what was then TVG Trier . In 1998 he and his brother Helge Patzak won the German Cup with the team . After the second state examination in 1999, Patzak worked from February 2000 to the end of June 2013 at the Trier public prosecutor's office in the areas of narcotics offenses, organized crime and homicides.

In the meantime from April 2004 to March 2007 he was seconded to the Federal Prosecutor's Office in Karlsruhe and from April to August 2008 to the General Prosecutor's Office in Koblenz. Patzak has been a member of the German Society for Addiction Research and Addiction Therapy since 2009 and has been a part-time lecturer at the Rhineland-Palatinate University of Applied Sciences in Mayen since June 2013 . On July 1, 2013, he was seconded to the Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection in Mainz . The chief public prosecutor has headed the Wittlich correctional facility since October 1, 2014. He was appointed Chief Government Director on October 1, 2015. Patzak is married and has two children.
