history

The Jewish community of Senones, which probably emerged in the 19th century, consisted of 62 people (2.6% of the population) in 1859 and 104 people in 1885. Like so many other Jewish communities, it suffered the same fate. In 1943 and 1944 the Jewish residents were deported and murdered by the German occupiers .
