The Mülheim Jewish Cemetery is located in Mülheim-Kärlich in the Mayen-Koblenz district in Rhineland-Palatinate , near Lohrweg and Hoorweiherstrasse. The Jewish cemetery is a protected cultural monument .

history

The Jewish community of Mülheim laid out its own cemetery in the middle of the 19th century. It is 7.73  ares in size and was occupied until 1941. Today there are still about 50 tombstones ( Mazewot ).

In the cemetery there is a memorial stone with the following inscription: “The Lord said to Cain: Where is your brother Abel (from the common Bible Genesis  4,9). To commemorate the deportation of Jewish citizens from Mülheim-Kärlich March 21, 1942 - July 27, 1942 - to remember the dead - to remind the living. "

On the other three sides of the memorial stone are the names of the Jewish citizens from Mülheim-Kärlich who were deported and murdered.
