Jewish cemetery (Oettingen)
The Oettingen Jewish Cemetery is a Jewish cemetery in Oettingen , a town in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries . The cemetery is on the outskirts at Mühlstrasse 44.
history
The Jewish community of Oettingen buried its dead in the Middle Ages in the Jewish cemetery in Nördlingen , then in the Jewish cemetery in Wallerstein . The own cemetery in Oettingen was laid out in 1850.
In the 24.20 ares large cemetery there are still 319 tombstones ( Mazewot ), including 36 children's tombstones . The cemetery is surrounded by a wall, which is interrupted by two entrance gates. The smaller gate leads to the Tahara house, which is still inhabited today .
