Jewish cemetery (Osterberg)
The Jewish cemetery in Osterberg , a municipality in the Neu-Ulm district ( Bavaria ), was laid out around 1840. The Jewish cemetery at the end of the village on a slope, near the Kolbenweg, is a protected monument .
history
The Jewish community in Osterberg initially buried its dead in Illereichen or Fellheim . Around 1840 the own cemetery could be created northwest of the Jewish district of Osterberg, which is 7.07 ares in size. The last burial took place in 1906, there are still around 46 tombstones ( mazewot ) in four rows.
In the spring of 1932 eight gravestones were knocked over and two smashed. The cemetery was repaired at that time.
