Jürgen Karney (born September 5, 1954 in Berlin ) is a German presenter on radio and television as well as at live events.

Life

Karney grew up in Berlin-Johannisthal. He trained as a skilled worker for telecommunications with television in the GDR and later became a record entertainer with a professional ID ( DJ ) in East Berlin. In 1975 he was seen for the first time in the program Telethek and on GDR children's television on the screen. After completing basic military service as a sailor, program managers became aware of him in 1981 during a casting for GDR television .

With the show Bong , a "hit parade of pop music", he became a show presenter on GDR television in 1983 . In this show, many artists gained greater prominence. Inka Bause, for example, became known through the show when she was voted the winner of the Silver Bong awarded in the show with 40,000 letters .

Karney has been heard on Sundays since 1984 with Jürgens Radio Show on Berliner Rundfunk . Every month he moderated a live talk show on the radio with Wolfgang Lippert , where he hosted artists, athletes and scientists. Karney was also cast several times in revues in the Friedrichstadtpalast . On August 30, 1986, he hosted the 82nd edition of the GDR Saturday evening show Ein Kessel Buntes .

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Jürgen Karney initially continued to host in the DFF , including in the 1990 show Karney & Co. 1992, when he started the newly founded, now private Berliner Rundfunk 91.4 . Here he moderated the morning show for several years. In MDR television and produced Karney presented the Music Quiz Music Box . On February 5, 2012, Karney's album Environmental Musical for the Whole Family was released. The lyrics for the album are from Rainer Oleak and Michael Seidel . Before that he worked as a moderation coach for the Ostseewelle.

Karney lives in Teltow, is divorced and has two children.
