Jürgen Poeschel

Jürgen Poeschel (born May 15, 1942 in Kasdorf , West Prussia ; † November 22, 2015 in Oldenburg ) was a German administrative lawyer and state theorist . From 1996 to 2001 he was the first directly elected Lord Mayor of the city of Oldenburg for the CDU .

Life

Jürgen Poeschel put the Abitur at Scharnhorst school in Hildesheim and studied law at the Georg-August University of Göttingen , where he in 1977 with a state-theoretical topic at Ernst Rudolf Huber doctorate . After graduating, Poeschel embarked on a career in local government , with positions in Braunschweig , Wolfenbüttel and Oldenburg (Oldb.). After the reunification of Germany Poeschel moved to the Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art in Dresden .

In the municipal policy Poeschel occurred in 1996 when he surprisingly for the first direct election Mayor of the city of Oldenburg (Oldb.) Won. His marriage to Marlene Poeschel in 1979 had four children. Jürgen Poeschel died on November 22, 2015 at the age of 73.
