Jürgen Helmut Renner (born March 10, 1966 in Neunkirchen (Saar) ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and has been a member of the Saarland state parliament ( MdL ) since April 25, 2017 .

Renner attended a secondary school in the Saar-Palatinate district in Homburg between 1976 and 1983 and then completed an apprenticeship as an administrative clerk at the Homburg District Office , which he successfully completed in 1986. Renner was employed in the local district administration until 1995, after attending an evening grammar school for three years , he studied at Saarland University between 1995 and 1999 . Renner then took over full-time the office of leader of the SPD parliamentary group in the Saarbrücken city ​​council. In 2012, he moved to the Saarland Ministry of Education and Culture as head of the Media and Citizens Communication Department , where he was close confidante and press spokesman for Minister Ulrich Commerçon ; Renner ended this activity when he took over the state parliament mandate in 2017.

In 1984 Renner joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). Between 1997 and 1999 he was the spokesman for the Federal Association of Juso University Groups and between 1998 and 2000 he was Deputy Federal Chairman of the SPD youth organization Jusos . Jürgen Renner headed the St. Johann SPD local association for eight years (2003 to 2011), and from 2010 to 2017 he was deputy district chairman of the Saarbrücken SPD.
