Jürgen Staupe

Jürgen Staupe (born March 14, 1951 in Witten ) is a German politician . From 2004 to 2012 he was State Secretary in the Saxon State Government .

Life

After graduating from high school in Iserlohn in 1969 , Staupe studied law at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and passed the first state examination in 1974 . After the legal clerkship in Berlin , the second state examination followed in 1978. 1985 distemper at the University of Hamburg Dr. iur. obtained his doctorate and graduated in political science from the Free University of Berlin with a degree in political science. Since January 2011 he has been honorary professor for political science at the Technical University of Dresden.

From 1978 to 1980, Staupe was employed as a research assistant at the School Law Commission of the German Juristentag , then until 1983 at the Max Planck Institute for Educational Research in Berlin. Until 1990 he worked in various functions at the Federal Environment Agency , most recently as Scientific Director. In 1990, Staupe moved to the Saxon State Ministry for the Environment and Regional Development (today Environment and Agriculture) as a department head, and in 2000 he became department head in the Saxon Ministry of Justice .

politics

On November 29, 2004, Staupe was appointed State Secretary in the Saxon State Ministry of the Interior as successor to Michael Antoni ( Cabinet Milbradt II ), on July 1, 2007 he moved as State Secretary to the Saxon State Ministry for Environment and Agriculture , where he also worked during the reign of the Tillich's first cabinet remained.

In the Tillich II cabinet , Staupe had been State Secretary for Culture since October 2009 . On March 20, 2012, he was put into temporary retirement by Prime Minister Tillich due to internal cabinet quarrels about the Saxon education policy, whereupon Minister Wöller announced his resignation on the same day.

From January 2011, Staupe was a member of the University Council of Leipzig University. Until January 2015 he was its deputy chairman. In March 2015, he was appointed to the University Council of the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK). Since January 2016 he has been practicing as a lawyer specializing in constitutional and administrative law in Dresden. At Below Tippmann & Compagnie Personalberatung GmbH he works as a senior advisor.
