Jürgen Walter (singer)
Jürgen Walter , actually Jürgen Pippig (born December 7, 1943 in Fraureuth , Greiz district , Thuringia ) is a German singer and composer .
Life
After graduating from high school, Walter trained as an agricultural clerk. He later studied German and Romance languages at the Humboldt University in Berlin .
He is a co-founder of the Hootenannyclub , which later became the October Club . In 1967 he appeared for the first time in a small town hit on GDR television . In 1969 he passed the entertainer test with a professional ID . Since then, he has worked closely with Gisela Steineckert , Thomas Natschinski and Arndt Bause . With the title Do I have to be a clown , he took third place at the hit festival of the Baltic countries in 1972 .
His most famous titles include I wouldn't care about anything , Schallala, schallali , that's where she came from and being a clown . For the latter title, he attended the artist school for two years to learn how to work on the trapeze and wire rope walking.
He was the first GDR artist to receive a personality show in the Palace of the Republic in East Berlin . In 1980 he presented Ein Kessel Buntes . He performed in 1983 in the Palace of the Republic on the Trapeze. He later switched to the genre of chanson .
In 1988 Jürgen Walter had a film role in the DEFA film Mensch, mein Papa…! and in 1989 in the movie Der Bruch mit Götz George .
Tours took him to Cuba , Vietnam , Lebanon and France as well as to all European socialist countries of the time .
Walter founded his own record company JPM Berlin in 1992 .
Jürgen Walter lives in Falkensee near Berlin.
