Jūōsei ( Japanese 獣 王星 ), also Jyu Oh Sei , is a manga series by the Japanese artist Natsumi Itsuki , which was also implemented as an anime television series. The approximately 950 page manga is aimed primarily at a female readership and can therefore be assigned to the Shōjo or Josei genre.

action

In the year 2436 mankind settled in the "Balkans" solar system, 150 light years from Earth. The twins Rai and Thor live with their parents on the spaceship colony "Juno". The father of the two boys is an influential man in the colony's government, which is why many see him as the next Prime Minister of Juno. The young Thor would like to become a pilot in order to be able to visit the very distant earth. His brother Rai, on the other hand, wants to become a scientist like his parents.

However, the twins' dreams burst. When the two of them go to their parents' apartment, they are shocked to discover that they were murdered in cold blood by strangers. The boys are knocked unconscious by the secret police and locked in a spaceship . You will be banished to the next planet "Chimaera", which is teeming with plants of all kinds. Most of these plants are carnivores. “Chimaera”, also known as “Planet of the King of Beasts” ( Jūōsei ), is home to many criminals and outcasts . Many of them, like Rai and Thor, were banished to this planet. The law of the strong applies, humanity cannot be expected here. Who is too weak dies. There are only two seasons on the planet, half of the year the whole planet is bitterly cold and shrouded in darkness, the other 181 days it is unbearable heat. Shortly after the two boys come to in the crashed spaceship, they are attacked by a group of menacing people. They flee through the jungle, the pursuers always close on their heels. Only after Thor kills one of the pursuers, they are saved by their leader. His name is Zagi and he explains to you the rules and structures on the planet.

Due to the different skin color of the people living on "Chimaera" there are four different tribes. In addition, the men and women live separately from each other. The undisputed ruler of the planet is the Beast King, he is also the only one who can leave the planet, this path is blocked for all others. Each of the four tribes has a leader, the "top". He is directly followed by the "second", he is the deputy of the "first". The third tallest in the trunk is the "third". They are the only ones who have direct command over the rest of the tribe.
