Jack Fillmore Betts (born April 11, 1929 in Jersey City , New Jersey ) is an American actor .

Life

Betts visited the Actors Studio in 1957 and then appeared in smaller roles on Broadway and in television series. After guest roles in successful adventure series, westerns and soap operas , he gained greater fame from 1965 with his role in the FBI series .

From the second half of the 1960s he played leading roles in Italy under the pseudonym Hunt Powers in Spaghetti Westerns after he had received a contract for three films from Franco Giraldi . This also included the critically acclaimed crime western Rocco - the man with two faces . Then Betts was featured in Demofilo Fidani's cheap wests .

From the 1990s he appeared in American films mainly in supporting roles, including in works by the director Joel Schumacher . In the 1998 biopic Gods and Monsters by Bill Condon about director James Whale , Betts played the horror film actor and Frankenstein monster actor Boris Karloff .
