content

The ruthless bounty hunter Lazar Peacock comes to the border town of Palo Pinto, where the mine owner Barrett lets the peons of the area dig for gold for a pittance. After identifying Barrett as Billy Ring, who has a sizable sum on his head, he extorts him and demands $ 100,000 in gold. Barrett's / Ring's people try to help him collect the money; Meanwhile, Lazar is working with a stranger who has been following him for some time for reasons unknown to him. After he was initially able to escape from an ambush in which Barrett lured him by this stranger, he tries to get rid of this companion. This turns out to be the son of an old victim of Lazar, who can defeat him and finally kill him.

criticism

The lexicon of international films didn’t leave the film badly: "Dilettante staged series product that has nothing to offer except sadism and boredom."

The Italian film expert Christian Keßler was also rather unimpressed: “The fact that the plot never really gets going is once again due to a mild, not very varied script that denies the events the intensity that one would actually expect from a killer and revenge story should. "

" A monotonous, rambling western without any originality." (Segnalazione Cinematigrafiche 70)

Remarks

In the German version, Lazar became Sabata, which was already successful at the box office .

Cinematographer Aristide Massaccesi has a small role in which he is featured as the Arizona Massachusset .
