action

Seven masked bandits kidnap the young Susy Prescott, the cousin of the Mayor of Clayton, Frank Colonny. Their leader, known as "The Mormon," demands a ransom of US $ 15,000. Frank agrees and immediately after the handover of the money and the release of Susy and Sheriff Benson, he attacks the group, from which four people escape.

Benson enlists the help of the gunslinger Sartana; the Mormon hires four killers to kill him: Buffalo, whose weapon is his whip, Martinez, a master knife thrower, Sullivan, who has outstanding physical strength, and Silky, a so far undefeated sniper. Sartana can take out three of them.

When Sartana discovers the Mormon's hiding place, he establishes his identity with Frank Colonny. He takes him prisoner and hands him over to the sheriff. Then he has to face Silky in a final duel, whom he can finally shoot.

criticism

Segnalazioni Cinematografiche described the film as "a very modest Western with clichéd processes and ideas". The lexicon of international films became even clearer: "Badly and poorly-cheaply staged straggler of the spaghetti western wave around the Sartana figure, garnished with ridiculously arranged fights and shootings." Christian Keßler remarks that this film is one of Fidani's best and shows itself Surprising that the future Dario Argento employee Luciano Tovoli was responsible as cameraman.

Remarks

The film was shot in the Pisa area and in the Cave Studios near Rome.

As is usual with Fidani, almost all participants are led under English-sounding pseudonyms .

Images from the film were published in September 1970 as a photo novel by Star Ciné Adventures in France.
